We are very excited about the incredible potential of the Life Groups we’re building here at First Christian Church. Life Groups are all about relationships. You see, it is not only important to attend church, but also to connect with the people there. And that can only happen by building relationships.

God never meant for us to go it alone.  We need other people people who will care for us, encourage us, challenge us and sharpen our character. This is where we gather to share our lives with one another our pains, our successes and our spiritual journeys.

We are not just studying the Bible.  We are not just talking theology. We are pooling our resources, talents and spiritual gifts to help others in Jesus’ name. We are opening our homes for Bible study in our communities. We are being the body of Christ in the world where we live, work and play, sharing life with others and reaching out, together, to the world around us. And that’s exactly what God intended.

Life Groups are about real community, which includes loving, sharing, serving, giving, and comforting. Our Life Groups are the best way to get involved in the family life and enjoy the community of our church. Life Groups are where life happens at First Christian Church.

Currently, we have four groups meeting throughout the week.

Sunday Night

This group meets at 6:30 p.m. on Sundays and is going through a series of studies on the incredible stories of men and women in the Bible and how their circumstances can help us navigate through ours in the 21st century. This group is meeting at the Wagner's house.

Tuesday Night

This group meets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and is going through a financial study. Through this study, members will determine where they are with respect to the Bible’s teachings on personal financial management and learn how to align their attitudes and beliefs with God’s standards, giving new meaning and purpose to life. At present they are meeting at the Loganbill's.

Wednesday Night

This group meets at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday and is going through a series of studies on the incredible stories of men and women in the Bible and how their circumstances can help us navigate through ours in the 21st century. At present they are meeting at the church building.

Thursday Night

This group meets at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and is going through the book "The Purpose Driven Life" taking each of the weekly studies from one of the 40 Days presented in the book. The Purpose-Driven Life is a manifesto for Christian living in the 21st century...a lifestyle based on eternal purposes, not cultural values. Using biblical stories and letting the Bible speak for itself, Warren clearly explains God’s five purposes for each of us:

  • We were planned for God’s pleasure, so your first purpose is to offer real worship.
  • We were formed for God’s family, so your second purpose is to enjoy real fellowship.
  • We were created to become like Christ, so your third purpose is to learn real discipleship.
  • We were shaped for serving God, so your fourth purpose is to practice real ministry.
  • We were made for a mission, so your fifth purpose is to live out real evangelism.
This group meets at the Gramke's house.
